Fog light bulbs
I hope that I am not wrong when I assume that it is the same as on the S-Type: On the S-Type I had to remove the whole bumper to get access to the fog-lights - but before you do, just check from under the car, if there is any chance to access those foglights with the bumper attached. But what you should ponder about: Compare the cost of a replacement bulb, evaluate, how scratched the lenses of your foglights are, and consider replacing both fog lights with all new ones. I found cheap ones on Aliexpress - AND: I bought those with an DTRL (Daytime running light) halo around the fog-light. Look for "Angel eye fog lights Jaguar XJ". Obviously you then have to find a way to connect those DTRL. That is one of my next projects on my X308...
PS: Those plastic rivets are being removed by pulling the core out first and then the outer part of the rivet.

OK, then it is easier than I thought, but obviously you have to remove that black plastic cover from underneath first.
Silly me, I just re-attached it. It should be fixed with a few screws and with a lot of those plastic rivets. You might break those rivets, when you are not careful or understand the way they work. But they can be bought cheap (Aliexpress).

Yes, it's not all that hard to reach in there and replace the bulb. One thing though...
It is suggested to replace them both at the same time. If one bulb blew, the other
is probably not far behind, and you would want to ensure they both have the same
brightness. Cars look pitiful when one bulb shines brighter than it's counterpart.

>> do not use bare fingers to change. any oil or grease will burn it out
That is definitely true for halogen bulbs in car and house. Grease points will create hot spots, uneven heating and possible cracks due to uneven heating of the glass.
I am not convinced that touching also constitutes a danger for halogen bulbs - so better safe than sorry. Wear CLEAN rubber of fabric gloves - or use paper towel, if you think you can juggle the bulb with that towel without dropping it. In case you touched the bulb, clean it with alcohol (water does not remove grease).
And this might be of interest: I just added DTRL to my X308. So I needed access to the fog lights, which are accessible after removing that black cover under the bumper - no need to remove bumper:

PS: I could not find any reference on the internet about it, but I have a hunch that touching any bulb-surface (halogen, LED or otherwise),, which will get hot and which will be located inside of the lamp-reflector, would be a worry: I figure that the fat/grease from the fingers on the bulb inside the reflector evaporates and then sets down on the reflecting surfaces making them dull - that is the reason as to why I don't touch the bulbs...
