I made a call yesterday to a transmission shop not far from here and wanted to know what it would cost to run a diagnostic test on my transmission, he said that they would put it on a lift and check every thing from electrical to mechanical and that he had the same testing equipment as a dealer,he also seemed to know quite a bit about the ZF trans. This service is free, after a back ground check I found that they are a member of ATRA that is a large group of transmission specialists around the country. I am not sure but I think that a diagnostic check at a jag dealer would cost a little more. I will have to trailer the car to his shop for the check and he said it would take about 4 hours as the paying customers will come first. Just thought I would pass this along and will post a follow up.
