Front wheel bearings for 2001 VDP?

Those wheel bearings can be tricky. Getting the spindle (vertical link) off isn't the problem. there is a nut that is also the wheel speed sensor ring. A special tool is made to take it off without damaging it. I have seen a few people take chisels to the rounded bits on the back side to try and spin the nut off. My suggestion is to take the loose spindles (vertical link) to a Jag dealer or specialist with the right tool to get the nut off and swap out the bearings. We did a number of them over the years. One guy kept bringing in his about three times to replace the bearings. He kept getting cheap bearings from China. I do highly recommend getting a quality bearing.

It is not the easiset job, but certainly do-able. You will need a bench prss- my 30 ton unit had a small strrain. Check the archives for the size of a 12 point socket that will remove the nut just fine.
