I have 2 questions: -
1) I am refitting a refurbed rear axle to my 1998 X308.. it's a 3.2 Sport. Before I put it in, I am also replacing the fuel lines as they look a little tired .
Someone else (my son.. bless him) removed the existing lines, so I don't know where the 'feed' from the filter at the back connects to the fuel rail at the front, or, where the 'return' connects from the fuel rail back to the tank, or, which is the EVAP line?
2 diagrams I have seem to conflict? Did the setup change before or after my year (Sep. 1998), or maybe the 4.0 is different to my 3.2?
It may seem obvious, but I want to get it right before refitting the rear axle. So a simple drawing would help if anyone can help, or just a note to say this goes there, and that goes on over there.. whatever?
2) Has anyone experience fitting PowerFlex Bushes to the 'A' Frame? I have the instructions etc. to fit the bush into the 'A' Frame itself, but on the original bushes there's a spacer ring that sits on top of the bush on each side. The PowerFlex instructions make no reference to this spacer, should one be fitted when changing to PowerFlex Bushes.. does anyone know, because PowerFlex UK don't!!

Many thanks M. Stojanovic.. I suspected this was the correct way. I have seen posts where people have taken the rear axle out just to assist access to the lines, so figured it a sensible thing to do and replace the lines before putting mine back in.

Hi Paul, if you're describing the spigot bush shim that sits on top of the bush, fit it. That particular bush can seize in and become part of the A frame over time with salt/rust. A reciprocating saw can cut them out if you haven't a spare frame. Light coat of copper slip on install. Eyeball the slots front/rear in the bush for correct fit.

Side note on poly bush kits for our cars, when I spoke to a senior engineer @ Jag about them he mentioned the XJR bushes have a higher shore hardness than poly, meaning it wasn't worth the work. If you're going from comfort then it probably is.
