Default Further work plans

Well, into a couple days since my 308 came out of the shop...and it's running nice. New alignment, no Pxxxx codes (that's what new coils, plugs, couple hoses, gaskets, and such will do, right?), new rear mufflers...what a dream ride.

So, starting on piecing together a couple projects:

1. Interior. Well, the headliner is drooping (may just put up an upholstered 'bow' at the rear break at the back of the sunroof for the time being to hold it up and some contact at the rear edge to tension a bit...first things first...one of those "will get 'er done" in the future), and the seats could use deep cleaning, rejuvenation/rehydration, and probably a redye.

So, been in contact with Leatherique, and sent off a snippet of leather from underneath the rear seat to match the color (code SDZ/cashmere) of the dye. Ordered a complete kit (cleaner, prep agent, dye, crack filler); as a member of this forum, they offered a $55. discount for the whole thing, nice. Used their products on the Turboesprit I restored back in '99..and was very pleased with the results, so, going to go down this path again. Figure that to keep it even, will do both the front and rear seats. I like doing this stuff, so...call it way better than hanging out at the pub (at least that's what SWMBO says. I'll try and take some photos of the process for the corporate memory.

2. The Motorola T605 came in via USPS. The CD player I picked up at the local Jag wrench breaker yard works fine, so, breadboarding up an audio switcher to hack into the player to allow me to select either the CD, T605 bluetooth, or a hard-wired feed using the CD player L+R feed to the radio. Have a spool of 8451 shielded audio cable (I use it when wiring radio station studios...); it's small, shielded, 1 pair, and easy to work with and can be used for either signalling or audio. Should work out ok.

3. Body shop is lined up for next month to repair rear right wheel arch at the rear door; remove rusted metal, splice in fresh un-rusted piece I cut off a wreck, re-waxoyl the rockers on both sides, remove rear window and repair a quarter-sized rust bubble at lower corner...and merge in fresh paint on both repairs.

Think that's enough for now? I do. Should be pretty nice when done (if they ever really ARE done, right?)
