Was invited up to run at the super speedway in Dallas with my buddies Camaro club so since it was VIP I figured why not. They needed to round out the group for an even number. lol Laps for childrens charities. I have done it before so knew how to get the most speed out there since you run with a pace car. Dang Jag decided to randomly flash me the "low coolant" warning on the 100 mile drive up. I just did a full inspection the day before so I just watched the temp gauge like a hawk for the last 20 miles of the drive. Got to the meeting spot, poped the hood and noticed a tiny sneeze worth of coolant on the blowers snout. I ever so gently touched the Norma fitting at the crossover and it popped and sprayed me down with coolant. Argh! My buddy ran me over to a parts store to get some hose, clamps, euro coolant and a screw driver.

So that was fixed and we had a little picknick. lol

We then proceeded to the track and I noticed that the tail of the car felt a bit off at low speed turns. Couldnt really see anything wrong so we continued onto the track.

I have ran this track before and knew to get the most speed (pace car does like 75) was to be at the back. So I was last car and right behind my buddies 1000hp ZL1 I helped build. He showed me who is HP boss! LMAO!

Alas on the drive home the car was vibrating and it got worse and worse. By the time I was near home the car would bounce from every stop light. I freakin HATE Goodyears. They are only 1300 miles old and one has seperated. I was gonna run them till worn and throw some Michelins on but guess i will be ordering them sooner than latter. Damn POS tires.

We still had great fun. Just glad that tire didnt let go when doing 120 on the racetrack!

Nice experience (on the track that is). I'm so with you on those stinkin' Goodyear's, what junk. I couldn't wait to get mine off, they were a nightmare to get balanced, ...even road forced they didn't truly balance. I think I only had 20-25k on them when I dumped them.

Other than that, at least you got home safely. As for the video....geee, lets see, 18 yr old stock XJR vs new highly modified, about a 1/3 less weight Camaro??? ....typical bowtie guys....at least it was for a good cause.

Concur on the GY garbage consensus, nice to see you out enjoying her ! I had some kid in a newer model Challenger absolutely lay it on heavy off the light for like 3 lights on a long straight blvd today. On the last light I gave him a little love tap of the throttle & he calmed down rather swiftly lol. I mean If you're going to be doing that non-sense be sure you have the V-8 model.

As we can see the days of craftsmanship & style are gone
I also have had problems with BF tyers
I run Pirelli's on mine should give Mitichlen a thought as per value.
a great day out good to do for charities
should organize a Jag day bet you would get a great crowd.

How old were the tires? Three years is about all you can expect out of tires you run over the speed limit. 5-6 year old, they are definitely on the downward slide....even zero mile tires that look new.

The tires were 7 years old according to the date stamp. Really is no comparison with the new Michelin PSS I threw on there. Car hooks better in the wet than it did in the dry before. Totally transformed the car. Rides and handles sooooo much better now.
