Had a good run yesterday
I had to take a quick run to my kids house yesterday which is 75 miles away. I decided to take the XK even though it was raining ( I would never take my Fcar out in the rain). Well the driving consisted of a Parkway (55mph) followed by a interstate (65mph) roads. The MPG on the info screen was at 19.6 when I started and when I arrived it just hit 22 mpg. My travel speeds were 60mph and 70mph with a few "get past the truck" increases to 85mph. This was my 1st highway run and the ride was very comfortable (I'm 6'3 , 230) although my seat position is a little closer then my old 308. I'l be making a 4 hr run in a few months to visit friends in Pa. so I was wondering how the ride would be. I also gad an opportunity to visit the Jaguar dealer who I may select as my dealer. Either I go 75 miles north or 65 miles south so I wanted to see their shop. I am still amazed at the rate of acceleration of this thing so hopefully I'll learn to control it. Also my windshield mounted EZPASS did not work so I've ordered the front plate mount. I thought the heated windscreen was a cool option but now I.m not to sure. So far the car is great but I do notice at 60 mph I hear a slight drone and it seems the tires are a little noisy but at 70 it is pretty quiet .

Had an interesting mileage experience recently on my trip to Ireland. Left home in London with TomTom telling me I had 253 miles to go to reach Fishguard in Wales (ferry port). Range estimation on the dash was 205 miles, so I figured I'd have to stop somewhere & gas up.
However, as I drove west (85 mph cruise on the M4 motorway), I noticed that the miles to travel were dropping faster than the estimated range. By the time I was halfway across Wales, I realised that there was no way that I'd need to stop. I eventually got on the boat with 35 miles showing on the range.
I guess my estimated consumption figure was so badly skewed by spending most miles trundling around London.

Interesting that you noticed a slight drone at 60 MPH. In my 2008 XK I had that drone right at 70 MPH and not at 60. It bugged me enough that I replaced my aftermarket catback with the stock to get rid of the drone. It was still barely there.
I have not driven my '10 XKR enough on highways to see if there is any detectable drone.
