Out of interest, has anyone had to replace:
coil packs
injectors
wires connecting ECU to injectors

in their XJ/XJRs of the X308, V8 flavour? Just for interest sake can you put down year of car and mileage please either if you have or you haven't?

I haven't went through anything you mentioned. I did have my injectors cleaned at 112,000 miles, and currently am approaching 113,000. So far, so good on replacement of items you mentioned.

 

Two coils this past year in my 2000 XK8@80,000 miles +-.

 

Nothing replaced. 98 XJ8L, 107k miles.

 

Coil packs replaced at 120k

 

Bought 99 XJ8, 80000 miles, about 15 months ago. Had it about a month and RP, coil pack. Replaced that, and about 8 months later, had to replace another.
Think I will do a bulk buy for the other 6

 

Whats weird is multiple people have had cylinder #3 coil pack go... mine just did and it's been fine since replaced. Car feels better now too, weird.

Eventually just gonna replace them all.

 

I owned my 1999 XJR from 135k milea to around 155k miles. Never needed any, but I am not sure about previous owners.

I did have water on them once, but once dry, they worked fine again.
