Default Help to identify leftover part

I have attached pictures of a part that was left over from when I had my car painted. The guy who originally was assigned to my car was fired (unrelated to my car) and the guy who finished up didn't know where this came from. Neither do I. Can you help? Thank you!

It might be a front door latch cover to prevent a 'slim-jim' type tool from unlocking the door from the outside (along the glass)??? I forget what they look like EXACTLY but they do get in the way of latch/handle removal.

I have not been inside a front door in a while.

The shield is bolted over the latch mechanism inside the door. They are a pain in the A$$ to refit and many get left in the scrap pile. (they would on MY own car!!!!)

You are correct. And agreed, really difficult to refit, mine is sitting on a shelf from the drivers door

Thanks for the help! I'm not going to worry about it for now. Maybe if I ever have the door panel off I'll see if I can reinstall it.

Or... leave it off so you have a chance of slim-jimming the car if you were to manage to lock your keys inside. I did that because ANY jag key will lock the door, but only the right one will unlock it!
