I have not found a posing yet that quite captures the issue that I am experiencing. I have a 99' XJ8 with 67K. I can start it up, but when it starts, it begins to idle smoothly other than a light ticking noise, and a slight "screeching" sound. As it continues to idle and heat up, the ticking seems to remain constant both in timing and volume. The "screeching" seems to increase in frequency and in volume. This continues until the car is at temperature, or around 5 minutes. At this point, the idling gets kind of rough. Then, the engine will abruptly stop. Any thoughts or suggestions on this? The VIN is: SAJHX1049XC854700 if anyone can pull a history, or if this helps with diagnosis.
