We have tried all day to find the access hole to release the hood latches on my 2001 VD. We see all kinds of holes under the wheel cover, but not where we would be able to place any kind of tool to release latch. HELP!!
Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

It seems the 99 XK8 is different than the 2001 XJ8 Vanden Plas. We used a camera to view holes and do not seen any type of release. Anyone know the difference?

Thanks to Complete Car Care in Beaufort, S.C. who finally figured out that the small access hole in the pictures in this thread is 1 inch to far back towards the windshield. They drilled a hole 1 inch forward of the factory access hole and was able to pop the spring release in 2 minutes. The access hole looks the same on the 99's but no way can you pop the release from the same hole on the 2000 or 2001.

does anyone have any pics of where to drill the hole? I am now experiencing the problem of the passenger latch not releasing the hood. I removed the tape where the patch is and as mentioned there is no way to reach the latch from there. Any help will greatly be appreciated.
