If you also bought your Jaguar XJR or JX8 without a key fob and only had a single key to unlock and lock your doors manually;its a pain! Do not worry though, the struggle is over!

First thing is first ... any key fob will work as long as its a 315MHz frequency...i bought this one from ebay for less than 50 dollars..here is a link

problems with this key fob...the uncut key is a different size unfortunately as you can see from the picture below



my actual key is longer length than the uncut key


HOW TO PROGRAM:

pre-step....keep your fob and actual key separate until you have programed them correctly then combine the key and fob...this way it will be easier to program...

1) sit inside your car
2) turn your car to the accessory like you usually would...so you can roll down your window
3)take the key out..as if you were leaving the car

(above steps were done so you can hear your car chirp with the window down)

1)while sitting in your car...with the key out of the ignition;pull the high-beam switch (your high beams should be on)
2)while high beams are still on (your still holding)...insert the key into the ignition and turn it one click (accessory setting)
3) Release the high beam switch....and flash the high-beams 4 to 5 times
you will hear a slight chirp and your a red light will appear on the "J" gate....release high-beams
4)take the new key fob and press any button and confirm that it registered by the flash of the red light each time you press a button on the fob
5)press the key fob buttons aleast 5 times and after the 5th time remove the key and you will more chirps from the car


now test your new key fob! and if it is functioning correctly you are done!



and now the struggle has ended! and peace has arrived!
