How many miles on your XJR?

Trying to get a feel for how many miles the V-8 XJR's can rack up without a major incident.(averages)
Please reply with your XJR'syear,total mileage, and any suprises along the way (early gen tensioner failure, Nikasil?)
(yes KM's are acceptable also)

2000 xjr with 62000 miles on it right now. I believe this is the later model year one so there's no nikasil issues I hope. only problem it's given me was starting problems at first. But I think I might have fixed one of the relays for the time being so it's been fine lately

2000's dont use Nikisil so your fine.

Repping the XJ6 with 74,200 miles

Thanks Mr. Lanceo and Rowanremote, I hope more owners will post thier experience. I am thinking that the XJR just may be a reliable value (If taken care of previously.....) and better looking than those tarted up teutonic uber-rods.(save the 500e)I am really trying to get a feel from owners about these because I want one, just need to satisfy the left brain.

Thanks 93, I do understand the straight 6 to be bulletproof, do you have any expertise with the force fed 6, or just the N/A? I have not ruled out the XJR with the 6, but would need to overcome the wieght of the Iron block, get some more pep outof it. Also I have read that the 6's blower has older style bearingsand need to be torn down at around 60K?
I guess we can add XJR's with the 6's to this threadI'spose.(Real Connoly,H/K sound and all)

2002 with 85k miles

Haven't had it that long, but did get its maintenance history from the previous owner, and it hasn't needed any unexpected work.

I love it, and can't imagine another car I'd rather own, including the current XJ (too big and bloaty, and less Jaguar). I'd like an XK, or an Aston Martin or Ferrari if money were no object, but I like to have a rear seat an adult can sit in, and get to.

Just my thoroughly considered opinion.

. I have 55,300 miles on my 2000 XJR. Drove from Pennsylvania to Florida several months ago (around 850-900 miles). No worries! Then my "restricted performance" light came on a couple of times on the highway a month or so ago. I hadmy Aston Martin/Jaguar dealer in Tampa check it. I have a 1998 XJR with 66,500 miles on it as of this morning so far only two things have failed on her the power steering pump and the differential ($$$$). I have been proactive with her maintenance and I replaced the chains and tensioners at about 55k. I did have every single coolant hose replaced I think there were 18 or 20 in total that took the dealer 2.5 weeks and $4,000.00 to do. I had one start to leak and figured if one is others might follow.
