Helo. I have a problem with the local authorities. They say my car is with changed VIN. I need to bring the jag to a special workshop to prove my car's VIN. Please, tell me - on how many places and where I can find and check the number. I know the metal plate under the front window and next to the battery in the trunk. Is there other places?! Maybe on the engine? The car is jaguar x8 vandanplas 2000

Hello Aragost....you have covered the two usual places but if you look at the bottom left corner (viewed from drivers seat) of the frontscreen glass you will find the VIN is etched into the glass.
In some markets the VIN is also on apanel on edge of drivers door and also you will find it on panel just behind left bonnet/hood hinge....hope this helps ;o)
