How to remove e-brake handle?
Is there some trick to this? Ive replaced many of them on cars over the years, I cant get the OEM leather one on my 98 XJR to budge. I have a real wood handle from my SE Miata that almost identically matches my steering wheel and shift knob, so I figured Id see if I could get it to fit. It looks like it will fit, but for the life of me I cant get the old one off of the car. Am I missing some trick?
Sometimes also called parking brake. On the next model, the parking brake, or emergency brake is electronically actuated, so I guess it could be an ee brake.
Yeah, parking brake Ive also heard and use interchangeably to refer to the same thing. But Ive never heard of anyone using the term "e-brake" and thinking to themselves "hmm, which electronic brake are they referring to?". Theres just no such term to identify any electronic brake of any sort
Every car I have owned since 94, except the Jags, have had e brakes, and they frequently hang up.
Been driving for sixty years: always heard them called parking or emergency brakes; whereas electronically actuated brakes were always called . . . .
But then I never needed to remove the cover from a brake handle

Commonly known in ROW as a 'Hand Brake' ;o))
