Default On the hunt for Asteroids, input requested.

Had a set of rims ready to install refurbished the whole 9, well I finally got to my storage unit for the first time since the hurricane has passed. The whole unit is a loss, aforementioned rims, a '57 Corvette rear end & numerous hard to find tools my dad left me when he passed. Now I am on the hunt for a good condition set of Asteroids. My rear end's finally getting fixed & next on deck is new wheels.

Share your veteran wisdom as to where I can locate these, I've checked the regular haunts IE eBay,Craigslist, local breakers, marketplace here etc. to no avail thus far.

Thanks

Sorry about the storage unit I would say you have all the sources laid out. But ask around at junkyards as well. Sometimes they have full sets.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Was it due to hurricane damage or theft afterwards?

i know these are not what you requested but someone just posted a set of XJR rims in Atlanta GA for sale on Craigslist for $500. Set of four Jaguar 18" wheels for XJR XJ8 XJS XJ6 etc

What happened to the existing rims that you cannot use them KC? ....was there insurance on the unit, even from the owner or the contract you were paying on? ...is there a possibility homeowners insurance covers that, ..you may want to review your policy?
As I always post for carparts.com, I checked... Search Results ...the issue is Asteroids are popular. I've used Carguts in Blacksburg SC for my Penta wheel and they say they have 7 spoke. Plus these are all yards, if your buying all 4, then barter. Heck even if I'm buying one I barter.

There's a FB group "Jaguar XJ X308 Owners", and someone from I believe Jersey? Maybe.. but just posted a nice looking XJR up that he's parting out. I know a few people have asked about the wheels, but no replies that they're gone as of yet. Might be worth a check, if you're into the FB thing.

I'd sell you mine... but that's probably not the most convenient or cost effective option!
Good luck with the search though, I'm sure they'll come up if you're patient

That an chrome ecchange auction he wants you to send him you asteroids then he'll send you the xhrome ones at the ebay cost listed or you can buy outright for $2000. Plus.
I rather buy the car on the Myrtle Beach Craigslist listing. You can basically drive down with your pal or your lady. Drive the car back to your local find a decent jaguar wheels to swap . Then sale that joint for $2500. Sounds like a good deal if you have the space and time.

Nothing wrong with Pentas, and you can always trade them for Asteroids later if you find some

The Pentas are fine looking wheels. Had both of my Asteroid sets redone by wheel collision center in PA -- The Asteroids are more popular and more valuable. I have two sets of XK8 rims for winter tires -- they actually look very nice as well. Both of my A sets had two rims that required straightening -- think they charged me around $600 a set w/tax. Bending of the rims is common -- so you have to check.

Ended up putting AS on the one R -- went with the Continental DSW --- Continental is my favorite AS tire for my area. Have most of the fleet outfitted with them. We get a lot of rain snd some snow. It's a reasonable compromise for a little used car .. still have summers on the other ... obviously better.
