Interior lightning bulbs(again?)
I installed 4 new bulbs in my drivers door switchpack and tested them. They work fine and the switchpack doesn't over heat. The bulbs I used are from autolumination.com. They are blue Type B T4 Neowedge incandescent. I was able to get the bulbs out without taking the switchpack apart. I had trouble with one bulb because the blue covering had melted to the grey rubber in the switchpack. I DID NOT move the blue covering over from one bulb to another. This was close to impossible to do because the blue covers get hot and melt to the bulb and the grey rubber of the switchpack. I recommend replacing all 4 together. The lighting seemed to be even and the right brightness. The bulbs cost $1.99 each.
The bulbs are hard to get out because they are recessed into the plastic frame of the switchpack. Taking the switchpack apart is kinda a pain so I will tell you exactly how I got mine out. Use a slotted screw-holding screwdriver. Grab the slot of the plastic bulb holder with the screwdriver, push in a little and turn 1/4 turn CCW. I found that turning the switchpack with the buttons up and the bottom of the bulbs down helped a little because it puts gravity on your side. Slightly giggle and pull very slowly to work the bulb out.
Install the autolumination bulbs using the screw-holding screwdriver or a screwdriver the fits the slot well. The new bulb is going to fit tight so you don't want to damage the plastic by using a screwdriver that is too small. Push in and turn 1/4 CW.
I had another problem that just luckily happen while I already had the door panel off. My door-check broke and damaged the sheet metal where it mounts on the front of the door. If you have never replaced this before I would highly recommend checking it for cracks before putting the door back together. If it is still in good shape, grease it real well while you have the door panel off. I replaced mine and had to use large washers on the inside of the door to help strengthen the damaged sheet metal.

Thanks ! 2001 White XJ8
I've noticed that how thin the metal is at A pillar. I almost dare to say it but it is Fiat level thin.. I better keep hinches and the door-check in good grease as they always should be. Worst thing to do is keep using doors when door-check is lose and bangin either door or pilar. I have fixed "couple" pilars for the same reason.
I hope that I can get my hands on the car in the end of this month. We will see.

Spring is here.
Took today couple bulbs out of heater control panel. Of course local partshop didn't have anythin even close. I spent couple hours to measuring and comparing bulbs to the bulb technical drawings. Found out that panel has yes T series bulbs. But imperial sizes. I gathered that LCD panel has two T1 - 1/4 neo wedge blue and other buttons except temperature select and hazards button are T1 - 1/8 neo wedge. These hits exactly on the techincal drawings that I found. T1 is the clear hazard bulb. Of course I need blue and green filters.
Getting those bulbs from europe is gonna be a job. Unless King Charles reported T sizes does fit good?

I'm going for the originals. Don't want to spend any more time to try and taking apart. I have same type bulbs as White XJ8 has. SGN Barrat doesn't have JLM21154 bulb anymore. So memorybutton lower wattage LNA5180CA is the way then ? At least then buttons dont be finger heaters anymore.
