Default Intermittent easy entry/exit problem is driving me mad.

For a little while now I've had intermittent issues with the easy entry/exit function on the Sovereign. A hard reset hasn't helped, so I'm hoping that the far more knowledgeable folk on the forum can point me in the right direction.

Sometimes, when I switch off the engine, the red light on the gear stick console blinks very rapidly. If it does, when I take the key out of the lock, the steering wheel and seat don't move. Sometimes, but not always, if I open and close the door and then withdraw the key, the red light goes out and the wheel and seat move as they should. I have checked that the flap on the iginition lock is moving as it should, and I have found that contact cleaner squirted down the lock barrel might solve the issue for a little while.

As an amusing variation, if it does work when I withdraw the key, the seat doesn't move but the column goes up out of the way. The three memory positions on the driver's door all put the seat into the set positions. I have now decoupled the key fobs from the seat memory positions because, again occasionally, when I unlocked the car on the fob, the seat and column would move into the required position before I enterd the car and inserted the key in the ignition.

It's a minor but annoying issue - bright ideas please.

Any thoughts from any of the experts?

After you did the hard reboot, did you reprogram the seat/steering wheel positions?

It was awhile ago and I think I did reset the seats, but I can easily do it again if necessary.
