Happened a few times now. Daimler super V8. Mostly startup all fine but occasionally nothing from turning the key. Steering wheel had come to it's memorized position (not seat, that stopped working a while back), dash lights all fine and engine bay noises sound normal, but nothing when key is turned to start. Couple more tries having turned ignition off, removed key and tried again and it was fine. But the unpredictability is a worry.

Anyone had similar and found a solution?

I would suspect a key module reader issue. Either the module itself may be at fault (its a pill type capsule embossed in the key) or the reader in the ignition of that module when its inserted.
