Well, the description of the show is accurate. And my charcoal VDP fluffy mats take umbrage at the description. I didn’t learn anything new, but I conclude these guys are in the Tidewater, Va., area.

Yeah nothing for a grizzled X308 head to learn here. But it's always good to see renewed interest in our slept-on gems. The prices on eBay also reflect a new fondness in them !

Yes, fairly obvious that non of these three examples has had any recent TLC, what with CELs, ABS non-ops, falling headliners, etc. etc.
Simply examples of what look to be clean, low mileage examples yearning for enthusiastic new owners to fix the minor faults.
Always good to see YouTube vids related to the older Jags.

I prefer the older cars primarily because I LOVE to tinker. Yes, I know, be careful what you wish for but, I just don’t like very many newer cars. They all look the same. I find with all the electronics “newer” cars have to be just as bad if not worse than our already “old” cars electrical issues. To me, the X308 styling is timeless. My wife (00’ XJ8 w/59k), daughter(98’ XJR w/264k) and I (03’ SV8 w/both pulleys, intake, intercooler radiator and exhaust mods make my 119k car fun) are all worthy vehicles. Yes, they all require TLC from time to time but, being a Jag tech has its perks. Like the video above, my wife’s 00’ XJ8 is the same color as the 99’ VP. It’s a ..... different color....but it’s not like any other cars on the road.

Indeed, the new cars are cookie cutter offerings. I can't distinguish a Lexus from a Jag or an Infiniti,Honda & so forth on the roads these days.Originally Posted by Addicted2boost

If you line up an x308 R and a Bentley arnage t, I think the x308 r looks better on the outside. Bentley, nicer interior. So yeah, I think the x308's are slept on. Didn't learn anything from the vid myself.
New cars, I do like some. Alpine A110, Lotus(all of them), and every Pagani.

Tried like mad to figure out where these guys were located: Living in Tidewater, nah! Half my adult life in Northern VA or Montgomery County MD, nah! I am thinking Richmond area . . .
I think CK has it right: each needed some work and TLC . . . they way he saved the headliner in the first two was a disaster -- 6mm staples would have been cleaner

I saw this video recently also as I am currently shopping around for a 2003 VDP. Correct me if I am wrong but the VDP Super V8 did not come with the XJR mesh screen grill.....I think thats an aftermarket change the owner made to the Silver Jag.

Yeah, I replaced mine with a painted and wire mesh grill. It’s way better than the bland original one. Looks good with the powerhouse intercooler radiator.

I've seen so many people on this forum say that intercooler isn't worth it. Your experience with it?

I don’t have any hard data to back up that claim. I’ve only driven short distances so far. I’m not done with the system yet.
