My 2001 Jaguar XJ8 does not start. The engine does not turn over. The only code I get is P1111. Any ideas?

 

DEAD battery???????

Look at the power post on the false bulkhead , right side engine bay behind the suspension tower. They get hot/melt the brass/copper stud and the starter/alternator/battery wire makes no contact.

No, it's not a dead battery. I shouldn't have said "turn over". It does turn over but it doesn't start. I'm clueless.

 

Check the fuel pressure. Remove the engine covers and look for a small cap that looks like a tire valve cap. Gently push on the schrader valve in. A good fuel pump will have pressure and fuel will squirt out. A bad pump or related items will not squirt. Try that.
