Just started having a problem when in drive and in reverse in my 2000 xj8. It slighty jerks when you are starting in drive and also when in reverse. There are only 60, 000 original miles and it hasnt happened before. Any ideas as to what may be the problem?

 

First I'd check the transmission fluid level, could possibly be low.

Otherwise, sounds very similar to the issue I had before the transmission failed.
