Default Judging Jaguar Cars

When judging jags at car shows and what not, what's considered taboo? After market trinkets? Chrome added? Grill badges ok? I'm asking because I love jags and put a few things on my car-- but luckily I've used magnets-- so, when judging comes, I take them off-- but does it really matter? Should I leave them on as part of my personalization of my jag or take them off for the "purest" judges?? Your thoughts?

Depends entirely on the type of show.

If you're entering a JCNA Concours you can find the rules here:

Jaguar Clubs of North America

Some trinkets are allowable; most are not.

If you're entering a local car show the judges might not be concerned with authenticity items and you can go hog wild.

Many shows have "peoples choice" awards as well as formal judging. Sometimes "the people" love things that the judges are required to make deductions for :-)

Cheers

At Jaguar Concours events (JCNA) there are various judging divisions. There is a Champions division and a Drivers division.

Champions division judges cars based on authenticity, in other words, exactly how it should have come from the factory. It's very strict judging - - for example, not having factory correct coach-lines (pinstripes), missing factory or incorrect labels, or having aftermarket trinkets will cost you points. Your car should be clean and original. This is where you see the garage or trailer queens.

Drivers division judging also looks for originality, but I believe is less strict with appearance.

If your not showing it, whatever makes you happy. It is your car.

The only thing I have added to the rear of my car is a square and compass emblem.

Oh, and I swapped the XJR badge for an xj8 badge because I am sneaky....heh heh...
