Default just looking for the ball joints

Good day, gentlemen ( I am not sexist)

with the poor road condition in NY area. I need to replace the ball joints (both upper and lower). just want to know the best place/website to get the parts.

I wont get the entire control arm from the dealer, that is just killing me.

thanks

Vincent

I just spoke with my mechanic. I suggested me to get the whole new control arm.

here I have 2 questions
  • the whole control arm is never cheap but will that be will cost effective replacing the whole piece? consider I will have to pay less labor to my guy ?
  • also on I am on partgeek.com they have both lower forward and lower rearward parts of the control arms. they are just too many related parts and I am lost.

please help

you have to grind the **** out of the ball joints to press it out. if your car is up north everything is gonna be rusted and hard to get off. buying a used control arm and pressing new stuff in before you start the job will reduce your downtime and labor if you're paying somebody.

I would recommend against buying MTC control arms in case you've considered them, they have poor quality/durability, and the machining for the ball joint bore is so sloppy, conical, and oversized that a factory replacement lbj will just fall out by hand if you try to replace it after it wears. Can provide more details when I've got more time
