Been lots of discussions about the oil fowling the MAFS. Think I will stick with a clean $10 OEM filter about every 30k miles.

Think you can feel less than 1% increase in HP?

I've read quite a bit about the issues associated with oiled filters and MAP sensors, and seen plenty of pictures. However, most of the issues are related to improper cleaning/oiling of the filters.

I replaced the stock filter on my Powerstroke pickup first with a drop-in K&N, then changed out the entire air intake system for one from S&B. The S&B filter does an outstanding job (uses a prescribed amount of oil for filter) and I bought a 2nd one, so that when one is dirty, I can replace it while I clean the other and wait for it to dry and for the oil to soak properly. If S&B made a filter for my wife's Jag, i'd have one on it.

I run the K&N on my BMW 7 and my wife's Jag.

I have the K&N filter in my 99xk8 and my 95rav4. When I began looking for my Restricted Performance issue on my 99xk8 I felt that the filter oil left residue on my MAFS so after replacing my MAFS and my K&N filter with a factory filter. After doing so I felt that I lost power that the K&N filter offered me so I reinstalled the K&N filter and it did make a difference. I am aware and cautious when reconditioning the filter not to over oil the filter.
