Default Key/Key Fob?

Hi,

I JF Fam, I am new to the forum as well as the Jaguar brand, I recently purchased a 98 VDP and it came with 1 Valet key, 1 Black key, & no remote. I was shopping on Ebay and came across some of the blade style units for XJ, XK, S, & X SERIES yr ranging from 01-05. All help welcome

Careful. That is the ebay.uk site.

Apparently, there is a difference between frequencies used in North America and the UK.

Most of the US ebay sellers list the FCC ID and/or part number. Try searching on those.

Wink Use a Ford Keyfob they are cheaper!

I just bought a 2003 Vanden Plas due to our 1998 Lincoln towncar getting totaled by some idiot who ran a red light. Anyway, the keyfobs work just as the Jaguar ones do, I programed them the same way the jag ones do with no problems at all! They go for about $5 on Ebay! ENJOY!!

Default flip out key

Will the newer style flip out key as seen on X350's etc. work on a X308?

My town car was the signature series, but it will not make a difference, the same key fob is used on my fathers 2003 town car. I think it is a standard Ford key fob, as my sisters Mustang has a keyfob which looks very much the same.
