Ok, here we go. I have seen a lot of posts and information and am awed by it all

To start i have one key fob and it doesn't do a dang thing. Battery is good and

i've tried the re-programming tips found here with no luck. I believe i saw in the

manual that the remote receiver is mounted on the rear window. I'f i can figure

it out i will attach a pic as it looks like it's missing something. Secondly i am

stuck in valet mode as well because the "gentleman" i purchased from was a

complete liar. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Did i mention it's an '03 XJR

that i have fallen in love with.

 

that looks like the remains of a cell phone kit, [the mount for the antenna] on my 98 xjr the remote reciever is in the rear screen on the right hand side above the highest heater element, there are two stripes the same colour as the heating elements, the lower of which says high security antenna at the end. mine is uk spec and i believe that the only differance is the frequency.

 

As far as the fob/valet issue I would suggest that you start by confirming with a dealer that you have the correct part number fob as there were at least two part numbers each year. They can convert your VIN to the part number. Some parts stores have a fob transmitter test device to confirm that the unit is transmitting.

Unlocking the driver door with the key should reset the valet mode.

In the X308 series, there were three fob/module variants based on frequency. The US version is 315MHZ and will carry a FCC ID that ends in 315.

If you search the part number on JF or ebay, it is possible to match the information.

You guys are amazing. Yes i got hosed once again. the fob does not end

in the correct number. Now i just have to find the most cost effective

way to get the correct fob. Think i'll get two.

 

As I said before you guys are amazing. Yes i got hosed again but thank god

he doesn't know i have a team on my side. By the way can't get that girls

picture outta my mind.
