As for what she looks like, she was a gem when I picked her up three years ago ( [url

This gorgeous XJR was one of my favourites for a number of reasons: it was supremely elegant, had an absolutely pristine interior, low kms, full Jaguar Dealer history, no accidents, zero corrosion, very comfortable, very fast,….the list is long. I did have the timing chains and tensioners replaced by my JLR dealer as a precaution. I might also add that I did not drive it in wet conditions. Ken and I have friendly but divergent opinions on the proper use of Jaguars…😀 but then, this is the third Jag he has had from me. He loves torturing me by posting photos of his Jags in the the snow. Who knew that you could drive Jags in the snow?
Every time I see a photo of this Carnival Red beauty, I regret letting it go. If you look at the photo taken in Victoria the day Ken took possession of this XJR, you will see that the paint finish is well, spectacular….the finish seen in that photo is the result not only of the quality of original Jaguar paint, but also of multiple coats of Victoria Wax, a non-abrasive carnauba blend which I continue to use on all my Jags.
The paint finish on this car almost three years and three winters later is still pretty spectacular even if the backdrop isn’t Victoria’s inner harbour from the Empress Hotel’s porte cochiere and the wax is now from Meguire’s…
Beautifully kept, as all your cars are, Ken. The lines of an X308 remain elegant - but that is a trait that Jaguars have always had. True beauty (as opposed to fashion) never fades.
Getting ready for spring (which can’t come soon enough!). I was thinking they might go on today but we had a light skiff of snow overnight and it’s still -1 this afternoon with lows of -9. Hopefully Sunday…

An excellent look for sure and I much prefer it to the blacked out trim!
It has been almost three years that she has been my daily driver and she is still as eye catching as the day we first saw her in person and just as difficult not to keep taking “yet another” photo trying to capture that, this one from yesterday.
As always Ken, your car is a remarkable example among the rest of our remarkable cars. Testament to your care that she's that nice with your winters and salt. I have to get after the rust that I can almost watch grow on my car.
Still a bit cool with a forecast high of only 8C but that’s still nice enough to get out and enjoy the sunshine and watch the trees just starting to leaf out.
You've sure got this "make everyone else jealous" thing down pretty well. That said, thanks for sharing photos of such a gorgeous, and definitely well-kept car to give us all something to which we can aspire.

Thanks! Along with some consulting work, some yardwork and a few other “odds and ends”, looking after her is a bit of a pastime (although all of the mechanical gets done by a local indie). She is quite photogenic and I’m glad others enjoy some the photos.
The interior needs a weekend now that winter is gone but it probably won’t be this one as spring is here and a new battery is scheduled to go in the Series 3 tomorrow morning so she can get out and get some attention as well.

I opened a separate thread asking the same question and got similar responses so I think I’ll postpone trying to reinstall them until April when the snow tires come off.
Pictures would be much appreciated if/when you do have an opportunity to take some.
BTW our temperature this evening is -24C/-11F.
There’s a 50% chance of snow in tomorrow morning’s forecast that I hope will turn out to be wrong.
Ken
I've been busy since you last posted about this.... However after using the XJR for a run to a 3 day conference and other meetings in Canberra (2 1/2 hrs south) recently I had a strange noise in the front left suspension, so finally got a booking with the mechanic to get the old girl up on a lift for a look (turns out witness marks on the bottom of the coil looks like a stone or piece of metal got stuck in there for a while, but is gone now) Anyway, while she was in the air I took this pic for you:
You can see the duct in place and how the screws work for inside the wheel well.
