Default Lacquer over wood veneer?

Some of my wood veneer is faded, but some of it looks as though the top is cracking as though there was lacquer and it cracked. is there a way to refinish or repair this with a solvent?
thanks

With a solvent? No. It is just like fine furniture and the only to get it right is to have a wood pro refinish it or try and do it yourself by sanding very carefully and then applying nitrocelulose laquer.

Hi Frank,

Assuming you want to do the work yourself, you may want to read this to get an idea of what is required. Although the author was working on a vintage Jaguar, you can probably use most of the techniques. Anyway, good luck.
