We did a little geocaching/sunday drive yesterday with my girlfriend, and I took a few pics along the way. The cat is a bit dusty, as some of the roads we ended up driving were not paved.

Eveybody meet 'Blacky.' She is a 2001 XJ8L Vanden Plas. I added on an XJR grille and a set of Jaguar wheels of an XK8 to give her a little more sporty look. Love the Vanden Plas interior.

Looks superb.

I loved everything about my 2001 XJ8L - apart from keeping it clean!



This was Sovereign spec but I've had a VDP before and the interiors are brilliant.

Simple answer - British/Euro spec model years are 1 year behind USA, so when 'we' talk about an MY01' we mean MY02' on the USA side of the pond. There is no MY03' XJ8 in Europe, It's an 02' car.

Thanks Graham, didn't cost me much even with 44000 miles. Although many "not so sure" comments on this year and model, I have full service records. I changed timing tensioners, rebuilt the transmission, and changed water pump, , thermostat & housing, along with rad flush and the coolant. The repairs were more than I paid for the car.

Runs great now. Everything works fine, but I am a bit scared to see how fast it can actually go!

thanks for all the great Jag info on this form.

Going for a cruise today!
