Chinny4290...

I haven't seen you on here in forever! We've missed you. I'm sorry to hear about your silver 2002 XJ Sport. I must have read through your final thread 5 times, hoping that the same thing doesn't happen to me.

You always were better at taking pictures, I googled "Chinny4290", and found the full album of your XJ Sport. Awesome pictures.

What happened to your car? Did you end up selling it over Ebay?

I have wondered that for awhile.

haha yea. I kinda ran away because I was just so bothered by what happened. Still bothered to this day, but it is waht it is.

And thanks, I flip through those pics every now and then to reminisce.

I was sold that the bottom end went because I really couldn't spot anything bad with the timing chain.

I ended up selling it to a guy who is swapping in a 6.0L Chevy V8 from the 06 GTO specifically (because apparently it fits like a glove) and a guy in Long Island just patented a kit that makes the swap, including the 6-speed automatic, virtually plug and play (hence the inspiration for the desired project). I also got a lot more than I was expecting for the car.

Either way, i still miss it and will buy another.

Considering my situation, i just opted to lease a Honda Accord Coupe. Some may argue whether that was a wise choice, but considering where I am and my income, a lease just works for me.

Nice that you stopped by today...

I liked to see a fellow young guy on here; other than Jon (Burmaz),
I haven't got any contacts on the X308 side who are also young guys.

The new V6 accord coupes, for example, are cool... way faster than our 4.0 Jag.

Not enough personality IMO. Just like my friends V6 Camry, better
performance, but I have better handling, and my car has some soul.

I recommend another one. Mine has been a gem. And my next car has to
be a 2003+ XKR coupe, then I'll have an ideal Jag garage.

Well, I'm glad you didn't get killed on selling your XJ. It must have been
nice to make a couple bucks, since you had invested the new gearbox.

I have a bunch of friends with 6.0 GTOs, they run really well. Fast cars,
esp. my friend who runs 700hp.

Cheers,

Ian

I agree. But I have added a tasteful mod or two (catback exhaust, HIDs) to give it some more character, and the exhaust does exactly that

I made a little video for it so feel free to check it out.

Wow I guess being 25 I'm no longer considered as being young? This old age thing really creeps up on you doesn't it?

Now then, where is my walking stick?

Hello George...good shots ;o))

I can never understand why jaguar never fitted the chrome instrument and gear selector surrounds as standard.
Very appropriate for this class of car.

Cheers,

I don't think I've posted my car on this thread yet.....

The last pic is of my car before I got my new rims and fixed a dent in 2006. HUGE difference with the new rims. Prior to this picture (in 2004), it had a white pin stripe on the side that made the car look even worse. I removed that by hand.

It's a silver on Ivory VDP.

My VDP "land-yacht" easily has the nicest interior of any car on the road, new or old. There ain't a Rolls, Bentley, Maybach, Maserati or Aston that is as classy as a 17-foot-long VDP with a two-tone suede roof and limo-black tinted windows.

Went for a drive yesterday with some mates, And this is my frist time
having Hispeed42's XJR-100 exhausts on there.

We got a load of compliments on these cars, the employees from the store all came out to see. And it was a fun drive!

wow, not horrible , but i would have eliminated the quarter window and tried to make it look more natural and not like somebody welded a cap on the back of a sedan... but interesting nonetheless. thanks!!

Haha, good to know. And yes, it will be a matter of time until I can buy another one. But when I do, I'm going to approach it in a, "I have $30,000 to play with...time to buy another Jag." Or at least I hope xD

For memory sakes, this WAS my XJ Sport.

My hat is off to you for those photos. I've recently installed Mina Gallery center caps, axle back exhaust, and lower mesh grilled on my XJR; now waiting for summer to take it out for a proper photo shoot. I'm amazed by how these small exterior modifications have such a dramatic effect on how she looks. It seems that you are quite good with a camera, maybe I should have you shoot mine.
