Linear switch
Still working on my upshift issue that is covered in other threads. I believe I have narrowed the issue to a faulty linear switch in the shift assembly.
I ordered a used shifter assembly and installed it today. Upon trying to start the car, it immediately gave me a “failsafe engine mode” error and the car refused to start. I swapped my old assembly back in, and the car started right up with no errors. Just for fun, I swapped out the linear switch from the “new” one into my old one. Again I got the failsafe message and the car would not start. The old linear switch is currently installed, and the car starts fine. But I still need to replace the linear switch to hopefully fix the problem I’m having.
I believe that the “new” linear switch is bad, but to make sure, my question is: is there anything that needs to be done to program a linear switch, or are they interchangeable as long as the part numbers match?
Thank you!
