Default Locked my keys in the trunk

Ok, I know it is stupid. The other day whilst on trip to the Opal coast I managed to lock my keys in the trunk. Do not ask how! The car doors were already locked too.

With a little help of the local mechanic we managed to break into the car. He had these tiny airbags that he pushed in the far corner of the window frame, pushed it out a bit and then lassoo-ed the locking pin of the door mechanism. Took all but a few minutes.

That did set of the alarm, obviously, which I had expected. But the button to unlock the boot was not working, just beep when I pushed it. Looks like the boot goes in total lock down if somebody breaks into the car by means of forcing a door. Had not expected that. I guess it is a good feature to have. Not so good, when it is the actual owner trying to get at his keys in the boot.

Long story short, I had to get my son to drive down (350km) to bring a set of spare keys.

Just wondering, under these circumstances, is there any way to get into the boot, without damaging anything. Just in case I am stupid again. I have seen another thread on how to get into the boot with a dead battery, by my battery was fine, obviously. It seems, essentially I am looking for disabling the alarm functions that control the lock down of the boot.

Thanks

Jeroen
