Question Keys Locked In Boot

I have a 2002 Jaguar XK8 and my daughter locked my only set of keys in the boot. We got the doors opened but it seems the alarm is enabled and will not let us open the boot. Any suggestions? Someone said we may have to take the back seats out to retrieve the keys and I was hoping to avoid that. Is there a way of disabling the alarm so we can open the boot using the button?

Thanks in advance

Denise

I hve done this myself with all three sets of keys...don't ask lol. You need to go to the dealer with your vin and proof you own the car and they can make you a key for about $120. Cheaper than having the trunk locked picked. Iwas quoted $180 to have the lock picked.

This is a tough one unfortunately.

Actually removing the rear seat is not that difficult, but on our cars the gas tank is behind the seats, so it will not give you easy access to the trunk.

The battery, and the security module which contols the alarm are both also on the trunk floor, below the carpet.

I agree the only straightforward way to get in without damaging the vehicle is to pick the lock or make a key.

You don't have a valet key somewhere?

I looked through the wiring diagrams to look for a way to hotwire the trunk release, but as pointed out above, the modules and battery are in the trunk!

If it was me I would have the key made. At least that would hopefully prevent this from happening again.

Yep. That would be killing two birds with one stone.

Thank you SO much, I did JUST that. They charged me $85.00 for a key to unlock the trunk and I have to take it back to them to have it programmed for another $135.00! I guess it's all part of the game! Thank for your help!
