LOOKING FOR LATE MODEL XJ8- MODEL YEAR RECOMMENDATIONS?

We had a 1990 XJ6 for8 years, and loved it. We sold it 5 years ago, and now we are looking for a late model XJ8. Our pricepoint is approximately $25,000. I know that the XJ8 design changed with the 2004 model, and am wondering if the track record of the 2003 is better or worse than that of the 2004? Any recommendations as to what models/years to look for or stay away from will be appreciated.
Id def go for an 04 or newer, with prices around $22k for a great example you cant go wrong. They are also supposed to be a lot more reliable then even the 03s. Im considering adding an XJR myself but have looked at the reg 8s and they seem to be very nice.

I just bought an 04 xjr with 22000 miles and I love it. I have only had it for a week and it seems to be everythingI wanted. It is a one owner carfax certified clean and I got it for $26,000 which I feel was a heck of a deal. I looked for a long time for a low milege one in that price range, and I had to fly 800 miles to find it, but the deals are out there if you are patient and do your research so when one does come up you can jump on it.

There are a lot of bargains in XJ8s to be had if you do some looking. I wasn't really looking for a Jaguar, but at the price I couldn't resist it. Depreciation is steep - bad if you're buying new, but a boon if you're buying used. Many are gently used with low mileage, and you can be reasonably sure that the car hasn't been abused.
if you are buying a used one, get an extended warranty that will cover the air suspension components. They are pretty pricey otherwise. Great cars in general, no real problems with the exception of the air shocks.
