Lowering Springs
Hey guys. Was looking at Mina Gallery Bilstein lowering springs. Has anyone installed a set on their XJR? How much lower are we talking here, as it's a pretty low car to begin with. How does the ride compare to stock? and most importantly, Is it worth it? Thanks!
but decided to wait.
I just installed Mina's on my 2000, along with new Bilstien Sports and new suspension bushings throughout. I am very happy with both the looks and the significant improvement to handling. The car is actually pretty fun to drive on the twisty now.
I can easily notice the difference in ride height (about an inch all the way around) but to anybody else it just looks a little better. It doesn't scrape anywhere it didn't scrape before, but you do need to watch curbs.
It was a pretty tough job, but doable in my garage. There's plenty of infor out there on exactly how to do it.

I think i'm gonna stick with what i have. I'm in NH and any lower would be suicide on the roads around here. I am still looking for 20" montreal's though. I WILL FIND THEM!!!
Tell me what you think?
Viapa, I'm not sure those 20x10's are gonna fit. Let me know if they do though. I beleive the car pictured is 4 20x9's. Either way you'll figure it out i'm sure. You should also head back to BIP and have some headers put on. Cheap.
I seen the staggered setup on Eurotoys and it looks really good! I think the car has springs also!
yeh, a worn out one! I'm not one for messing with ride height, but lets see how they look and turn out.
Couple of things to mention, if going to 20" it puts tremendous strain on the suspension bushes, so make sure they're in tip top shape. A proper realignment is in order when stepping up the wheels and suspension. And be prepared for a different ride with less travel and tire.
Post pictures of lowered cars here, pimp them ridez.....
