Default MAP sensor question to all techs

Hi,

I'm interested in buying this Scan Gauge II which displays 4 live gauges at a time.

ScanGaugeII : Linear Logic - Home of the ScanGauge

My question was since my 2002 XJR has the MAP sensor, that is reading total boost, right? and therefore this Scan Guage thingy would be able to display the live amount of total boost right? (you can laugh if you need to, just please answer the question)

I'm planning on having the gauge display Intake air temp, water temp, boost, haven't decided on the 4rth yet...

The map sensor sits between the TB and SC, so no boost.

Thank you Andre,

More direct question,

Does the 2002 XJR have ANY sensor that reads boost that this scan gauge can read and therefore display??

If there was one I would have mentioned that of course, sorry there is no boost sensor, but there are plenty off products on the market though.

Andre is the SuperchargeMeister but I believe once past the throttle body there's nothing until the oxygen sensors which simply adjust the fuel injection time for the best stoichiometry so they don't need to know about boost pressure.
This is why you can increase the boost without having to change the ECM fuel maps.
EDIT - Andre beat me to the post - he's already replied.

Thanks guys,

I was hoping there was an output I could simply hook up to this mutli display gauge, but it looks like I'll just have to go the traditional route and use an independent gauge.

What about intake temps? Is there a stock output for that on a 2002 XJR?

I think the IAT sensor is where the MAF sensor is. I've monitored this while driving, and it basically shows ambient temperature while the car is in motion. Atleast it confirms that the factory cold air intake works.

What I am looking for is a sensor that reads the temps after the blower has compressed and heated the air..

Again, I think I will have to install my own and run its own gauge

I may just hook up a dual gauge showing boost and IAT and try to hide it subtlety in the passenger compartment as I don't want to give any outside hints that the car could be fast, when it actually becomes fast.

definitely not the MAPS...it is just connected to the vacuum tube harness that comes out of the supercharger assembly...
