Massive Modification to my 2007 XJR
hi guys just before I take my cat to a car work shop that does modifications for Ferraris and lambos here in new Zealand Iv taken my drawing of the modification I wanted to do to the car they guys there said no problem but this kinda mod would cost a lot of money said ill be spending more then the cars original price I was fine with that as long as they get the job dun. I wanted a sports car but I didn’t like the XK cause it look like a Aston martin and XF who look to much like a ford falcon I wanted something different I want a muscle car that have roaring power and mean looks so I turned to the XJ series my family’s always loved the XJ series cause of its high class looks and performance. Anyways please take a look at my design *I wanted something to freak my mates since he had a Bentley continental GT. I will also be doing performance mods to it guys at the work shop told me as long as im paying they can get at least extra 150HP to 200HP out of the XJR which will be ether 550HP or 599HP I didn’t believe them at first by after seeing one of their heavily moded S-type with 513HP dynoed ..I totally believed in them.
Here is my front design please give comments and tips im still working on the back of the car which I will post later *car will be lowered widened more robust look to it most parts of the body will be in carbon fiber and alluminium ofcorse

So far, it looks like a Mustang with Jaguar Hood, Grill, Wheels and Headlights. I'm a fan of Mustangs, so that's not bad. Is that where you got your inspiration from? Just might be the Most Expensive Mustang I've ever seen! It will definately be one of a kind.

Yeah I hate to say it because I don't really like Mustangs and I love Jaguars, but you might be working backwards here.
If you start out with a new Mustang GT and throw an STS twin turbo kit on it. (430hp and 480ft/lbs) Then heavily modify the body using a Jaguar front end, it would probably be about half the price and just as nice..
I'm totally a fan of custom builds, I've partaken in my fair share, but I would hate to see you waste more money than you have to.. I think it's a great idea, blending Euro elegance with American muscle car lines, but it sounds like quite a project.. Good luck and keep us posted.. Do you have a picture of your XJ? or of the mean sounding S-Type they have in their shop? Eric

I'm thinking the same thing. Convert a Mustang into a Jag at half the cost. Your drawing is of a Mustang anyways, so maybe go the other way around.
Have them insert the Jaguar Motor/Trani into a Mustang. Then add all the body work, wood interior and such.
I too am a greater fan of the Jaguar, but it seems like money out the window that you could use for more mods to get exactly what you want.

here's what I would do if I were you - do whatever mods you had planned to add HP -- then keep your money on the body mods. It's hard to tell from a sketch, but a 2007 XJR is a much more elegant looking machine that the hypothetical mustang hybrid in the sketch. Whatever you end up doing, keep us posted .. curious to see.

BUT, I was going to give the benefit of the doubt since I've met men that have spent a lot more money on stranger things.
Although, most of them had better spelling/grammar. No offense frozinfire...

This is a nice drawing by a sixteen year old kid who has enough money for art supplies.
If it makes you fell any better kid, it's a hell of a good drawing. Stay away from cars until you can earn enough money through a real career, then buy any nice car you want...
