Default A Massive Thank You To dsnyder586

For those of you that havent had the pleasure of talking to or working with dsnyder586 he's a great guy and VERY knowledgeable about these cars. Yesterday after the OC meet in a hour he replaced my right front door actuator, improved my throttle position, and hooked me up with a programmed fob. Super, super nice guy and he knows these cars inside and out. Anyway, just wanted to give him a public thank you for helping the new guy out!

I see that you're in Sherman Oaks, so where is this good fellow located?
Your words of approval are quite convincing and, at 92,000 miles on my X308, I will be soon needing this caliber of support. BTW, I'm down in Redondo.

Much appreciate such good news.
Cheers,

David is a class act, no doubt. We never met, and last October when my Garfield's secondary chain broke, I was in a state of mind that only a parent with a child severely injured in an accident, lying in the hospital in the coma, would understand.

I KNOW a LOT about cars. I do. Not bragging. But I completely overlooked the obvious! I was ready to buy an engine from David (after my mechanic quoted me 3K for rebuilding the top!), when he asked me what is the compression on my cylinders! I went and CHECKED, and there was no bent valves! The whole fix was under 300 bucks, and my VDP was back on the road.

I still owe this guy a bottle and a cigar.

I feel like a cad for having not given a huge public thank you to David. I kept debating on whether to do a thread such as this, or place it in his for sale thread where it might be buried in parts request.

So, can I say this is an awesome forum member, seller and great person to bounce questions off of!! Yes, I've purchased a few parts from him and all arrived as stated in his descriptions. He has kindly offer to donate a light as well that I was in need of. I try to answer a lot of my own questions using search before posting a thread or overloading members like David, Brutal, etc. Trust me, and believe that it is pretty awesome when others take time out of their day to respond with an in-depth response to help you solve a problem. It makes it easy for me to contribute where I can as I learn my XJ8. Reading what he has done for mcm97 isn't hard to believe as I've seen him give tons of advice to members new and old to the forum. For those in California, you guys are pretty lucky to have such a knowledgable, honest, resourceful and nice guy that you can get some face time with!! Simple words of wisdom "don't abuse it, and return the favor when you can to another member".

Once again David, "Thanks for the trouble you went through to ship my massive bumper and other items"!! If I could get my Indy to work as fast as you, I'd be one happy, on the road XJ8 owner.

Thanks mcm97 for this thread so that I could give him the credit and recognition for being a stand up guy!
