I've been thinking of installing one of those nice "Chicken Wire" Mesh Grilles that are up for sale on the Mina GalleryFor My XJ8. First of all, it is as easy to replace as falling off a log. Each grille insert is attached with two screws, and it pops in and out easily.I bought a non-original set such as Minas first, and was happy with the result, except that the screws that came with it were too long and could have scratched the hood while opened. I replaced the screws with shorter ones - STAINLESS STEEL only! - and all was well until I found original XJR grilles on ebay for about the same price. The original had heavier gauge steel and while it was worth it to me I doubt that anyone but me would notice... - but I like the original ones the best.

Good luck! It is the best looking modification that can be done, it is inexpensive and reversible.

 

I changed mine and it is a major improvement over the ones in the picture. Took about twenty minutes.
