I have a problem with the side mirrors on my 1998 xj8. They adjust all the way out when I use my keyless remote entry. Any help would be great.

 

the remote is probably set to the memory of the seat.. sit in car.. start it.. then press memory 1 then hold memory till led red turns on then press 1 then press a remote button and another button on a different remote if you have 2 remotes.. this basically programs the remote to the seat memory

 

Thanks for getting back to me. The door opens with the remote ok but the mirror moves at the same time. Is this what you think will help? Also sometimes the steering wheel moves as the door lock opens. Just started out of the blue. No clue what I might have done to program error. I did try disconnecting power but no help.

 

Did you start using a different remote?
As Genius said, the remote is programmed to seat memory. If you sit in the car. Set seat, side mirrors and steering wheel to where you normally drive. Press the memory button, push 1 and immediately press unlock button on remote. Once done, everytime you use that remote, it will automatically go to memory position 1 including the mirrors and steering wheel. There is no fault, just the way system works
