My wife`s 2000 XJ8 has a solid sun roof, but she has always been partial to the moon roof, clear or smoked glass. Does anyone know if one had been offered for her car or of an aftermarket retrofit anyone might be offering. Aloha from the Big Island.

 

Wish I could say yes. I called the supplier of the hard roof and they told me there is no glass alternative avail for the Jag. There are aftermarket kits but they look like crap and project off the top of the car. If anyone else has a line on this, let us know.

 

I feel the same way...that is why I am gonna get a convertible xjs...all the sun I can take...

 

Cars are somewhat similar in size.... It seems to me that the moonroof from some other make ought to be close enough to be adaptable. All we need to do is prowl around used car lots with a tape measure. A small moonroof could be mounted into the existing Jag sunroof panel. Or, a more extensive customization job would be to remove the Jag sunroof and frame mechanism, and adapt a (larger) moonroof into that opening.

 

I wonder if anyone has pursued this?
