My 1999 XJ8 is having some issues. When I start it up it idles super rought and has a squeaky noise coming from the front of the motor.. around the belts. Occasionally white smoke appears from under the car and out the tail pipe. Shortly after it dies..every time and says engine stall on the dash. No check engine light or safe mode light.. at a complete loss. . I am in need of some assistance.

 

Pease do yourself a favor and look in the archives concerning timing chain tensioners.
