Default My sad farewell to this wonderful Forum

I have enjoyed reading and browsing through this wonderful Jag Forum for the past 7 years or so. I am constantly amazed at the patience, time and effort the Jaguar professionals voluntarily share with the rest of us year in and year out. My hat's off to you, one and all.

But, sad to report, I am no longer a Jaguar owner. I was involved in an accident a couple of months ago with the the insurance company 'totaling' my car because the cost to repair exceeded its market value. I couldn't afford a new Jag, and I didn't want a used one that had the Ford air bag suspension system (I had had enough of that expensive experience from having a Lincoln in the family). So I ended up buying a low mileage, single owner 2009 Mercedes-Benz C350 Sport sedan, bright red. This is a much smaller, more personal car than the 2002 Jag XJ Vanden Plas I had before. But I'm sure I will enjoy it when I get used to the stiffer suspension system. Nothing is quite as smooth as a long-wheel base Jag XJ.

So a fond farewell to you, one and all. Perhaps I'll be back again one day when I can afford a Jag newer than the air bag models.

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.

Don't wait too long to be without a Jag.

Hey there's always the other Jaguars.... XKR/8, SType, XF if the XJ and the air bag system was an issue... plus Mercedes Benz are more expensive to maintain. But are pretty cars that perform... enjoy and you'll be back.

Godspeed I'm sort of in the same boat. I'm planning on staying with the clan though, on another Jaguar hunt lol.

Behold, there is a savior from the scourge of airbags, and their name is Arnott Industries.

Simple coilover conversion, apparently works pretty well. Little pricey, but saves you from ever worrying about the bags again, and you can have a nice X350 again

Hey Alvin, sorry to hear of the total loss of your car and that you're now Jag less.

I fully appreciate you've decided to go another route at this time an sincerely wish you well.

Jag owner or not, you'll always be made welcome here

Best

Jim
