Navigation DVDs

Seriously, are these discs model specific? It makes no economic sense to have different players/readers based on model and year.

All are obsolete now even w/ the latest supported update.

Obsolete in the sense DVDs are no longer used. Can the system be upgraded to current day technologies or should I just use my Garmin?

There's no updated DVD that would be beneficial, not sure if the system can be hacked/upgraded, I highly doubt it but I'm sure someone here will chime in. Just use Garmin or your smart device apps.

Hi KC, what if one wanted a navigation DVD simply for originality. Does anyone on this forum have any that you know of? or is this an eBay thing?

I've seen them on e-Bay, not sure how hard they are to come across though.
