Default Need a decent 4.0 for 2000 XJ8.

Jag I bought for the low miles just had the timing slip and pretty much trash the 74K mile engine. Looking for a decent 4used one in the San Diego area. If anyone has any leads please let me know.

Any Normally Aspirated AJ27 4.0 engine from a 1999 to 2003 XJ8 or 1999 to 2002 XK8 will bolt right into the car and work properly.

I have a AJ27 N/A from a 99 XK8 that was running when it ran into the car in front of it. I haven't done anything with it except removing it from the car. It will need updated tensioners, which I can do easily with it out of the car. I would also like to do a compression test. I could bring it to Bakersfield, roughly half way between Sacramento and San Diego. Send PM tomorrow if interested.

It had about 95,000 miles on it at the time of the accident.

Sorry for the late reply to your generous offer. Have decided to make this a parts car. Have my eye on a 2001 Carnival Red XJ8... I guess I must have the Jaguar bug.
