Default Need help with a few issues with the Jag please

OK, so I got the car running replaced the brake fluid and here's a few issues that I need to solve. I'm posting them all in one thread because somehow I think they might be connected.

So, here they are:

1. Stability Control Message
2. Traction Control Message
3. ABS light is on
4. Air Bag light is on

Horn and the controls on the steering wheel DON'T work..(Clockspring?)

Also the headliner is sagging, the sun roof gets jammed and the sub-woofer rattles....but those should be easy....

Ideas gents?

Without codes hard to guess on 1 to 4. But on 4 you can also get the info in another way. Usually the airbag light starts blinking if something is wrong when you turn the ignition on. Count the blinks, it will give a 2 digit code, it will be repeated twice with a short pause between the digits and a long pause between the retry.
Maybe it would help to check the electrical wiring diagrams to see if there could be a relation?

Iems 1,2, and 3 come from the same module- the one that is integral to the ABS pump assembly. I guess you do not know if these were on before the engine "event", since it wasn't running, huh?

You want to make sure that the battery is giving you full power - a weak battery at start-up will result in all kinds of warnings.

If you lost the wires to the steering wheel - this would also affect the airbag in the wheel generating the warning.

I would give a good look to make sure all the wiring is properly attached but both the closckspring and especially the abs pump module are known failure points. You will find a lot of info on the ABS pump.

No one has come up with a fix for the headliner short of replacement - and if the speaker itself is causing the noise its a bit of a strange part as it has two coils and one cone -- do a search --someone replaced the foam surround that normally fails.

Be very careful with the sunroof -- it has a few plastic parts that can cause all kinds of problems. The sunroof on these cars can be a major headache.

Good luck

My car after sitting for 2 years also had the stability control and traction control light on. After driving it for a bit they went away. I was guessing it was just dirty sensors from sitting. Knock on wood have not had any more issues with those. Did not have the abs or air bag light though.

So I resolved most of the issues besides the sunroof, headliner and subwoofer.

I followed this writeup which took care of 1,2,3:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-repair-62539/

Than I took apart the steering wheel and the clock-spring was ripped out. Some patience with a soldering iron, super glue and liquid electrical tape and it's as good as new which took care of the 4 (Air bag light) and all steering wheel controls work now...

A Caddy I had developed a clock spring issue. The horn would go off every time I turned left.
