Default need help w wiring

i was working on my 03 Xj8 about 6 months ago doing the fuel pump, i got it replaced and put back all the wires except these two and for the love of me can’t figure out where they went. any help would be much appreciated

In your second photo, this is where your 3 pin harness connects to. It plugs into a short harness that goes to the fuel tank lid. The other photos after the 3 pin, I have no idea where it goes. I looked around in the trunk of my wife’s 00’ XJ8 for that other connector but, I didn’t stumble on anything like yours. My recommendation is to leave the trunk unassembled and get the engine running and see what doesn’t work.

Actually, I take my previous post back. In my 03’ SV8, this connector is under the fuel filler lid and just forward of the CD player on top of the wheel well.


That 3 pin connector might actually be the same as what’s pictured in your post. It’s hard to see but, it doesn’t plug into anything. It’s in the center of this photo and just up a bit.

thanks, y’all definitely solved the problem but now i have a new one and that’s this second 3 but connector that i had originally plugged in now i’m wondering where this one went

i’m starting to believe i didn’t plug in something w the fuel pump, that would explain why i have an extra wire. strangely enough i can’t hear the pump coming on with either wire plugged in which kinda seconds my suspension i just don’t see where anything would plug in inside the tank or out to be in the position the wires are in

Check for a blown fuel pump fuse??
