Default Need SC idler pulley - cause I'm an idiot

Hi all does anyone have a smooth-surface, metal, SC idler pulley they can part with, or at least correct part number?

I replaced bearing in mine. Rushing around to put new one in, I used a socket just a bit too large in the hydraulic press. I wound up stretching / deforming the area where bearing sits. Now it has a wobble.

Thanks.

You're only an idiot if you didn't learn from your mistake. Btw, doing that job is a gamble at best. It's not really meant to have the bearing replaced in that pulley. We only do it because we like to prove the manufactures of that pulley wrong. As men, we like to fix $hit intrinsically I successfully replaced the bearings in my 98' XJR throttle body. Why?? Because I wanted to try to fix it. I wasn't being cheap, I like going against the odds.

Looks like the original idler has "multiple supercession" which would have required about $350 in new parts as dealers were saying the original is NLA. Fortunately, I found an NOS one on evilbay for reasonable price. It is enroute to the USA from Greece!

Son of a #$@&+_$!

The new idler pulley arrived from Greece. I open the box and it is NOT the same part the eBay seller showed in multiple photos. Instead of the smooth faced idler it is the later ribbed face.

I am wondering if I can use it anyway. Since smooth side if belt runs against it and it does not drive anything it seems like it should work. A bit different in the back side (facing engine) but I don't think that is an issue?

Thoughts?

You can only use that ribbed pulley with a ribbed belt. The ribs of that pulley will dig into the smooth side of the belt and ruin it. You will need a belt that's ribbed on both sides. Besides returning that pulley, you only have a few options at this point. Source another smooth pulley or move forward with updating your tensioner pulley, getting another belt and installing your ribbed idler pulley.
