Newbie's sickly XJ8 - water leak
Hi all,
Picked up my X308 about a month ago and been bumbling around quite merrily until last night when I got the low coolant light, drove for about a mile, saw steam and opened the hood to release a huge plume of coolant smoke into the air.
Refilling it only saw coolant pour out of the front of the block

Not great video I'm afraid.
I'm pretty handy but new to Jags - anyone know what's likely to cause this? I know the water pump is round there and prone to failing...?

Depending on the year of the car it may be time to change the thermostat housing and water outlet pipe. Also inspect the hoses. If you haven't done so please visit the new member area and introduce yourself.
